Olivia's fundraiser for Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary

Olivia Williams is raising money for Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary

Peak District Ultra Challenge 2026 · 4 July 2026 to 5 July 2026 ·

We offer any donkey in need a loving and forever home in the Wroxall valley on the Isle of Wight. Our charity relies entirely on donations, adoptions and fundraising from the public. Without you, we wouldn't exist. We're open 7 days a week. See website for details.

Story

Last year, I made it clear that my lungs were my biggest training setback, whilst also being my biggest motivation to do challenges such as these. This year, I have already completed the IOW full Ultra Challenge 2 to 3 May – it took me 27 hours and 7 minutes to walk 107 km!

On the July 4 2026 I am doing the Peak District 50km Ultra Challenge.

My aim this year was to raise money to buy a nebuliser for the donkeys because, like humans, they can suffer the effects of asthma. During the extreme seasons, donkeys will suffer with shortness of breath and wheezing the same way humans do and from experiencing this first hand, I think it very important to help the donkeys by improving their quality of life.

Thanks to your amazing generosity I’ve already raised over £1000. The donkeys are getting their nebuliser!

I’m going to use the remaining funds and any I more I raise on paying for some of the costs of Lulu’s care. Lulu only joined the sanctuary this year, but she is currently at Liphook Equine Surgery having undergone complex surgery for her shoulder. The cost of the surgery and Lulu’s stay is likely to be over £10,000.
