Story
I’m running 100km between September and December 2026 to raise money for Action4Diabetes and help young people living with Type 1 diabetes across South-East Asia access the medication and support they need.
Type 1 diabetes is something I live with every day, and travelling through South-East Asia made me realise just how different access to diabetes care can be depending on where you happen to be born. I’m incredibly grateful to have reliable access to insulin, glucose monitoring technology and medical care. For many young people across South-East Asia, those things aren’t guaranteed.
Action4Diabetes is a UK-based charity that supports disadvantaged young people living with Type 1 diabetes by providing access to essential medication, healthcare and ongoing support. Their work is a powerful reminder that access to life-saving care should never depend on geography, circumstance or income.
This is a personal challenge for me, not an ultramarathon and not an attempt to pretend I’m an athlete. It’s simply something difficult enough that I’ll have to keep showing up for it, while hopefully raising money and awareness along the way. My goal is to complete 100km and raise £1,000 for this important cause.
If you’re able to donate, thank you so much, your support will make a real difference. And if you can’t donate, sharing the page would mean a lot too. Every contribution helps bring care, hope and opportunity to young people who need it most.
Thank you for your kindness and support,
Ollie
