Story
I'm taking on a challenge to run 400 miles for Alzheimer's Society, in memory of two of the most important people in my life: my Granny and my Grandma, both of whom died from Alzheimer's.
Anyone who has watched a loved one live with Alzheimer's knows that it doesn't just steal memories. It gradually takes away the conversations, the stories, the independence, and so much of the person you know and love. You find yourself holding on to moments that once felt ordinary because, over time, they become priceless.
One of the hardest parts is knowing that the person is still there, but the disease creates a distance that no family wants to experience.
Over the course of this challenge, I'll take nearly one million steps - roughly one step for every person currently living with dementia in the UK.
For me, every mile will be a reminder of my Granny and Grandma: the memories they gave me, the love they showed me, and the impact they had on my life.
I'm raising money for Alzheimer's Society because no family should have to face this disease alone, and because research, support, and awareness are more important than ever.
If you're able to donate, no matter how small the amount, it would mean a great deal to me and help support the fight against Alzheimer's.
Thank you for your support.
