We are aiming to raise money but most importantly awareness for testicular cancer and the importance of checking yourself to notice anything abnormal or out of the ordinary! If Ollie didn’t go to the doctors when he did, the cancer would have spread quickly to his lymph nodes!

Ollie’s story:

After playing a game of football with the crew Ollie was hit in the “Crown Jewels”, at first he didn’t think anything of it but he felt some discomfort for the following days so much so that he would be crippled over in pain. He was adamant he didn’t need to get checked out but his girlfriend nagged him so much that he ended up going.

He went to a hospital in Malta where they did a CT scan and some other tests which confirmed he had testicular cancer. He then flew home from the boat a few days later so that he could get the care that he needed.

After a great deal of searching his family finally found a hospital in London that would perform his surgery and remove the right testis! It was a lot of backwards and forwards travelling into London but the testis was removed and the surgery went very well.

Ollie is now undergoing 3 rounds of BEP chemo therapy, which means he will in and out of hospital for the next 9 weeks, this treatment is to make sure that the cancer is gone.

We are very confident and positive that after this treatment Ollie will be back to his crazy self!
