Story
I am running the London Marathon on the 26 April 2026 and have chosen to support a local children's charity - BCCS - which delivers vital mental health and emotional wellbeing support to children, young people and families in Essex and East London. You can read more about their work here: www.bccs.org.uk
1 in 5 children and young people have a probable mental health condition and many will continue to have these problems into adulthood if they are not addressed early in life.
BCCS’ aim is to identify problems early and to offer therapy to those children and the adults around them for as long as it takes to put things right. They help many thousands of children each year who are struggling with identity issues, self-harm, anxiety, bullying, parental separation, bereavement, family issues or conflict.
The charity doesn’t receive any statutory funding and so has to raise funds from other sources to supplement its work. One of the ways this is done is through challenge fundraising by individuals and their donors.
If you feel you can support this challenge by leaving a donation - thank you - I am very grateful and I know that the young people supported by BCCS will be too.
Thanks!
Ollie
