Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In late Spring/early Summer in 2026, I will be walking along the north Norfolk Coastal Path and camping along the way. The route is over 100 miles and will take a total of 8 days to complete. The aim is to raise a total of £20,000 for the Holy Trinity Winter Night Shelter in Bishop's Stortford.

Who are they?
Holy Trinity Night Shelter is located in the heart of Bishop’s Stortford and aim provide a home for the homeless, providing year-round support and accommodation over the colder months of the year. They are run by a small team made up of two full-time members of staff who handle the day-to-day running of the shelter, case working, and outreach, with one part-time member of staff handling administration duties.
Currently they have over 100 active volunteers who cover a wide range of roles from serving food to sorting through donations to assisting with overnight accommodation.
Their aim is providing year-round help for the homeless to find stable accommodation and live a healthy lifestyle and prevent those in danger of homelessness from losing their homes.
They run an outreach programme where they pro-actively deal with housing and addiction issues in the local community to try and prevent homelessness occurring.
During the winter months, doors are opened to overnight guests to give them somewhere warmer to sleep when the temperature drops. Currently they can house 8 guests in purpose-built bedrooms.
Why they need your help:
Whilst they receive a small amount of funding from East Herts Council, most of their expenses are covered by the generosity of the local and wider community via donations. Currently expenditure greatly exceeds the cost of running the small team of staff and without further help the shelter may only be able to keep their doors open for another season.
There is an ever-increasing number of people of all ages experiencing homelessness due to a wide-range of reasons such as addiction, mental illness, rising costs, and family conflict. HTNS is the only shelter in the whole of East Hertfordshire district.
Facilities are also in desperate need of modernisation. They are in the process of planning an upgrade to the bathroom facilities as they only have one mixed-gender shower room. The kitchen is another area that needs addressing as the current one is no longer fit for purpose.
