I’m Running the 2026 London Marathon for Raystede – Help Me Make a Difference

In April 2026, I’ll be taking on the iconic London Marathon, all 26.2 miles of it, to raise money for a charity that means a great deal to me: Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare.

Raystede is Sussex’s largest animal welfare charity and for nearly 70 years they have been rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals who desperately need a second chance. From dogs and cats to rabbits, parrots and many other animals, Raystede provides safety, care and ultimately loving new homes.

What makes Raystede particularly special is that their work goes beyond rescue. They also help educate and support pet owners, promoting responsible ownership and helping people understand how to give animals the happy, healthy lives they deserve. By helping both animals and the people who care for them, they create lasting change.

This will be my second time fundraising for Raystede. In 2021 I ran the Brighton Marathon and was incredibly proud to raise more money as an individual than anyone else had for the charity in over a decade. This year I would love to beat that record and raise even more to support the amazing work they do.

It is also worth saying that I am not a natural runner. Taking on a marathon is a big personal challenge for me and requires months of training, commitment and determination. Knowing that the effort will help raise money for such an important cause is what keeps me going.

I have always had a deep love for animals, particularly dogs, and the chance to support a charity that gives so many animals a second chance in life means a huge amount to me. Every donation helps Raystede continue their work caring for vulnerable animals and finding them the loving homes they deserve.
