Story
We are on a mission to raise at least £5,000 to deliver a truck filled with urgent medical supplies to those affected by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
In the beginning of 2022 our families took in Ukrainian families both of which we became extremely close with and got to hear first hand the shocking and heartbreaking stories occuring in Ukraine. We have since wanted to do something to help and as we are both finishing university in June we wanted to go as soon as possible.
On the 17th of June we are planning our week-long trip driving from West Sussex to Calais, through Germany and Poland, finally into Ukraine, finishing in Lviv - driving into the live war zone from the Polish border . The total journey is around 1,300 miles (Olly has never driven on the other side of the road before!). We will then spend two days in Lviv visiting contacts of our Ukrainian families, dropping off supplies to the orphanages and see the impact that the war has had first-hand. We are then leaving the truck out there which will be donated as part of the aid, as we are going on behalf of the charity 'Pick Ups for Peace,' and finally flying home from Krakow.
The money donated will go towards supplies for two orphanages split equally, ideally we will buy two bigger items (such as a portable bath and special mattresses for children who cannot leave their beds) and then smaller donations such as books, toys, first aid and medicine.
Any donations would be hugely appreciated - this means a lot to both of us as it won't be an easy week!
Lots of love, Cesca & Olly XXXXXX
