Play Action International works across the world to help refugee s and other vulnerable children to learn, develop and heal through the power of play.

Story

Hi Guys 😃

My name is Olly and I will be volunteering in Kenya this summer to help build playgrounds for underprivileged children. From my own experience at school, I recognise how valuable playgrounds can be for developing social skills and supporting mental health. I have also recently seen first hand whilst working at a school, the impact play can have on children's mood, confidence and development. The playgrounds will provide a safe and engaging space for children to have fun and be kids.

Fitness and pushing my perceived limits has always been a passion of mine so I have decided to do some physical challenges to help raise funds for the cause. I'll be running in the Sheffield Half Marathon and also taking part in the Lake District Ultra Challenge and potentially some other fundraising efforts.

The money raised is going towards building materials and resources as well as future Play Action International projects. Your support - whether through a donation, sharing this page or supporting me along the way is greatly appreciated. I hope my efforts can play a part in improving children's lives.

Cheers,

Merce

Our awesome and dedicated team of volunteers will be heading to Kenya in summer 2025! We will be transforming an empty field at a local school into a vibrant playground so that children can access a childhood!

Your generous support will enable Play Action International to create a legacy of play within the local community where so that we can create an environment where children's development and well-being are supported and children are able to learn essential skills that will allow them to reach their potential. Join us in creating a legacy of play, laughter, growth, and endless possibilities.

Our playgrounds and play programmes bring about remarkable changes:

- 98% of schools report increase in pupil attendance.

- 74% of children give 'The Playground' as a reason to attend school.

- 83% of teachers report improvements in children's attention and behaviour in classes.

Donate to play a key role in supporting our fundraisers to ensure these amazing projects can happen, ensuring that every swing, slide, and moment of fun in the classroom contributes to a brighter future for disadvantaged children at school and in the wider community. We're incredibly grateful for your support!
