Story
On Saturday 29th March I'm doing the Tubeathon :-D This will see me travel through every station on the London Underground in one go. I've chosen the date on what would've been dad's 75th birthday - Philip Lowe O.B.E. was born on 29th March 1950. Dad's going to be in my thoughts during the challenge. The wonderful memories of him and the inspiration he continues to give me will keep me going around the network.
Dad had Parkinson's and I'm fund-raising for Parkinson's UK in his memory. Please sponsor me and contribute to the important work and research carried out by this charity. The photo below was when we took part in their flashmob mass dance event in Newcastle.
I've wanted to "do" the whole tube network for some time. The satisfaction of completing the tube challenge will be brilliant, but my tubeathon will be more enjoyable because I'm not doing it timed. It's likely to take me roughly 24 hours to do. I'm going to start on the Friday evening, making use of the night tube to continue all night, and I'll finish on the Saturday evening. I'll be visiting all 272 stations over 11 lines covering 402km!!! Mum is my amazing support party.
