A Bear Named Buttony

Charlotte Martin is raising money for A Bear Named Buttony
A Bear Named Buttony is a Scottish Charity providing support throughout the UK to children and young people who have a stoma. We donate Buttony, a cuddly friend, who has a stoma to children through a network of paediatric stoma nurses and direct through our FaceBook page. For Young Adults with a stoma we donate a wash bag full of non medical items to help them adapt to life with a stoma. Thanks so much for considering supporting our work. Together we can raise awareness and banish the 'poo' taboo!

Story

The Continuous Improvement Team at Zen Internet Ltd are raising money for 'A Bear Named Buttony'.

They're a wonderful charity that supports children with stomas and their families. https://www.buttonybear.org.uk

A stoma is a surgically created opening on the abdomen that allows waste to leave the body when the bowel or urinary system needs support. For thousands of children and families, it's a part of every day life - yet it's something many people still feel uncomfortable talking about. We want to change that!

By opening up conversations about bowels, stomas and digestive health, we can help children and families feel seen, supported and less alone. Through story books, activities and Buttony Bear, we're helping breakdown the stigma and encourage honest, age-appropriate conversations about health and the human body.

Because talking about our bodies shouldn't be embarrassing - it should be normal. Every conversation helps build understanding, every shared story creates empathy. And empathy has the power to change lives!

Let's keep the conversation going, because poo isn't taboo!
