Team Rowing Events

Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

Team "One-In-Eight" are raising money for The MS Society because one of the crew, Pete's, daughter Krystyna has sadly been diagnosed with the disease.

Over the winter, the "Cornish Pilot Gig" they row has been repainted in the colours of the charity for the 2024 rowing season, and beyond.

We successfully completed the first challenge, a Long Distance Row (60 miles) down the Thames from Bablock Hythe to Henley in July.

Next up, One-In-Eight will compete in the 23 Mile Great River Race on 21st Sept. This is an annual event featuring a 300 strong "field" of traditional rowing boats from across Europe, racing the tidal Thames through London, from The Isle of Dogs to Ham Common. It will be an exhausting challenge of 3 hours non stop rowing, no mean feat when you consider our crew!

The crew for these events is as follows:

Andy Thwaites (60 Mile)

Stuart Neal (60 Mile)

Ian Webber (60 mile)

Graham Nash (Both)

Kevin Webber (Both)

Mark Hannam (Both)

Pete Morton (Both)

Steve Waters (Both)

Ollie Webber (Great River Race)

Tom Nash (Great River Race)

William Walker (Great River Race)

With safety support from Paul Henry and huge logistical help from Warspite Sea Scouts.
