Story
One Question Across England
Running coast to coast… asking one question that connects us all.
When things get really tough in your life, how do you find a way forward?
I’ll be running the Wainwright Coast to Coast route across England.

Why I’m Doing This
Running has become one of the most important parts of my life.
It keeps me healthy, clears my head, connects me with nature, and introduces me to incredible people. Over the years I’ve realised that almost everyone is carrying something — stress, grief, uncertainty, change, self-doubt, or simply the pressure of trying to keep going.
Sometimes life feels manageable. Sometimes it really doesn’t.
I’m approaching the end of a career that I’ve genuinely loved, and while I’m excited for what comes next, major life transitions can feel unsettling too. They force us into unfamiliar territory where the future isn’t fully clear yet.
One phrase that has stayed with me for years is:
Trust the Process.
I even had it tattooed on my forearm as a reminder that progress rarely happens in a straight line. Whether in running or in life, there are setbacks, doubts, hard days and moments where the finish feels a very long way away. But if we keep moving forward, even slowly, things can change.
In late July 2027 I’ll attempt to run Alfred Wainwright’s Coast to Coast route across England — from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay.
But this challenge is about far more than miles.
Along the way I’ll be asking people one question:
When life feels really tough, what helps you find a way forward?
I want to collect honest answers, real experiences, practical wisdom, and human stories. My hope is that this becomes something bigger than a running challenge — something that reminds people they are not alone.
If even one person finds strength, hope, perspective or courage through this journey, then every mile will have been worth it.
Thank you so much for any support, donation, message, or shared story.

The Wainwright Coast to Coast is one of the most iconic long-distance journeys in the United Kingdom. Designed by Alfred Wainwright, the route stretches from the Irish Sea at St Bees to the North Sea at Robin Hood's Bay.
Although not an official National Trail when first conceived, it became world-famous through Wainwright’s guidebook and is widely regarded as one of the finest cross-country routes in the world.
