Duncan Watts is raising money for The Pahar Trust Nepal

Land's End to John O'Groat's for OneSafeSchool.org · 16 July 2026

Since 1993, we have impacted the lives of over 250,000 people living in hard-to-reach communities in rural Nepal. We have built or renovated nearly 200 earthquake resilient schools, creating safe and inclusive learning environments. Our other projects include community health and sanitation projects.

Story

1,000 Miles. 14 Days. One Safe School.

This July, Isaac and I are taking on an epic challenge: cycling 1,000 gruelling miles from Land's End to John o' Groats in just 14 days.

We are pushing our limits against the elements and steep hills for one crucial reason: *a classroom shouldn't be dangerous*.

The Crisis

In the remote village of Khasurbesi, Nepal, 165 students at Shree Jana Jagriti Secondary School are learning in a building that is actively crumbling. The roof is so severely cracked that classrooms flood during the monsoon season. The danger is immediate and real—recently, a student was injured by falling concrete during a lesson.

Our Mission: Building a Safe Future

Partnering with Pahar Trust Nepal (UK Charity no: 1028469) we are going to demolish this hazard and build a brand-new, two-storey, earthquake-resilient school. The site is designated, the local build team is ready to go, and we aim to complete the project by the end of the year.

💥 DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT: Every Donation is Matched! 💥

Here is where your support becomes incredibly powerful. Thanks to a generous matched funding pledge, every single pound you donate will be instantly doubled.

Our £30,000 fundraising goal will magically become £60,000. Combined with local municipality funds, this will completely secure the £76,689 target needed to finish the build.

What Your Donation Funds:

£25 (becomes £50): Buys essential materials like bricks and cement for sturdy walls.

£50 (becomes £100): Provides critical steel and roofing to keep classrooms safe and dry.

£200+ (becomes £400+): Your name/family name permanently engraved on a marble plinth at the new school.

£2,500+ (becomes £5,000+): Principal Sponsor recognition on the plinth and a formal invitation to visit the school in Nepal.

We are ready to put in the miles, but we need your help to turn them into classrooms. Please donate generously and help us build a safe future for these children.
