My name is Adam, i'm 48 year old man from the Wirral. After a marriage breakup in 2024, a fruitless search for a job, one group has been invaluable in pulling me out of a spiral and giving me a place to get things off my chest. ANDYSMANCLUB is a suicide prevention and mental health charity were men can go to talk every Monday 7-9pm. Groups run nationwide.

Now with a wish to give something back, it's time to live my dreams and go for a walk!

The King Charles III England Coast Path National Trail will be the longest managed coastal path in the world. It will go all the way around the coast of England and will be around 2,700 miles long when it is complete.

I'd better get moving. It may take a while! Please join me on my adventure and give generously for a good cause. Every penny could save a life!

Phase one began with a 40 mile walk from Chester to Southport in December 2025, then in 2026 I walked from Southport, up the Lancashire coast through Blackpool, Morecambe and into Cumbria, finishing in Askam-in-Furness in Cumbria.

In July I was on crutches. I tore a ligament in my knee and spent three weeks learning to stand on my own leg again.

On 5 October I'm setting off from Askam-in-Furness to walk 105 miles of the Cumbrian coast to Carlisle, over fourteen days, carrying a tent. I'm doing it for Andy's Man Club, a peer-to-peer suicide prevention charity for men, now in its tenth year.

I facilitate at a club. Every week I sit in a room with men who have made the enormous decision to say something and work through it.

I also know what the alternative looks like. Walking through Barrow-in-Furness earlier this summer I stopped for breakfast in a pub directly opposite the law courts. Eleven o'clock on a weekday morning, and the place was full of drinkers, with a whole wall of slot machines glowing away at the back. Consequence on one side of the road, escape on the other.

Those men aren't weak. Every structure that once told a man he was needed has been dismantled, and nothing has been offered in its place. Andy's Man Club offers something in its place. A room, a Monday night and other men who will listen.

Sponsor a mile — £10. There are 105 of them. I'll name your mile in the dispatch I write from that stretch of coast, so you'll know exactly which bit of the Solway or the Duddon estuary you paid for. Half a mile is £5. Take a whole day if you like.
