Story
We are raising money through the Pied Piper Appeal for Emily’s Gift.
In 1995, Julie Kent and her husband Bernard’s first daughter Emily died of a brain tumour when she was just three years old. Since then they have thrown themselves into fundraising for children with cancer in Gloucestershire.
We are good friends with Ollie Kent and thought this would be a great way to help support their charity and raise some funds.
Emily’s Gift
The current aim of Emily’s Gift is to raise enough money to fund a 'Blood Sampling Machine' for the Emily Kent Unit (Gloucester Hospital) enabling the children’s blood to be tested in 45 seconds rather than wait for hours on the unit. We believe that this will have a significant impact on the families who are awaiting results or treatment.
About Us
We have been friends for over ten years and love to undertake a challenge. Normally the challenge consists of cycling but this time we decided to run…. Neither of us being particularly good at running. We have decided to swap the Saturday night pub session to a Sunday morning running session. We are going to run Seville Marathon on 23 February and Brighton Marathon on 3 April, with potentially a few more in the pipeline… So watch this space! If you see us out and about running or training then please say hi or join us. We need all the motivation and support we can get!!
THANK YOU
MASSIVE THANK YOU, for taking the time to read this fundraising page. We really appreciate all your help and support. We know that helping to raise money for the blood sampling machine can change lives of so many children and families.
