Story
My name is Ian Mawson. I am a British Army Veteran and a currently serving Law Enforcement Officer with BC Corrections.
I am fundraising for Wounded Warriors Canada, an organization that delivers life-changing mental health programs for Veterans, First Responders, and their families.
With over 95% of participants reporting improved well-being, these programs have a proven and lasting impact. Your support helps ensure that those who serve our communities can access the specialized mental health care they need.
To reach my fundraising goal, I will run 126 km from Osoyoos to Kelowna. Along the route, I will stop at cenotaphs to honour and remember the service members and Veterans who have lost their lives as a result of their service.
Throughout the run, I will carry a Canadian flag emblazoned with the names of all those who fell during Canada’s deployment in Afghanistan, ensuring their sacrifice is never forgotten.
This run is about raising awareness for mental health and remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice—both on foreign battlefields and here on Canadian soil after returning home from war.
