Myself and a group of some of my closest friends (Anne, Anne-Marie, Clare, Eamie, Laura & Niamh) are taking part in the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon in aid of the IKA, a charity very close to my heart. This will be a huge milestone moment for me in my recovery post Transplant and what better way to mark the occasion.

In late summer 2022 I received the gift of life from my precious donor and their amazing family when I received a Simultaneous Kidney & Pancreas Transplant. I will be taking part on the day not only to mark my milestone but to remember my Donor and their selfless decision to become an organ donor. A decision my family and I are eternally grateful for.

The support from the IKA through my kidney disease diagnosis and journey pre and post transplant surgery is unmeasurable. They are a constant source of information, help, support and guidance for families living with Kidney Disease.

Any support for this great cause is greatly appreciated.
