Story
We need to help hedgehogs, they are lovely loveable night time snufflers BUT they are officially "near threatened". To give them a bit of a head start I'm looking to raise money for a hedgehog incubator for the Wildlife Aid Foundation in Leatherhead. The great people at Wildlife Aid, rescue, rehabilitate and release hedgehogs and other British wildlife.
I'm planning to walk 50 kilometres (that's quite a long way for a nine year old) in the Surrey Hills in January. It'll take me somewhere around 14 hours because it'll be up and down on the muddy paths (not on the flat pavement that my easy route dad suggested). I've been doing my training walks and have my nutrition ready (a rucksack of Oreo's) but it is a long way.
I'm really hoping that with your generous donations we can raise at least £832 for a new incubator, (hope I won't need to put my feet in it to fix my blistered feet after the walk). If we raise more we'll get the super deluxe version incubator with a nebuliser for medicines which is for sure going to help even more hedgehogs. If we raise even more than that hedgehogs and other rescued wildlife can be helped by two incubators. So... please help, give a donation, help the hogs and see if I can walk the 50 km's....
So....I did the walk this Saturday, 51.05 kilometres, 14 hours 41 minutes. The last 5 km were the hardest, by then my feet were very very sore, my dad wanted to carry me but I said no, it seamed like that would be giving up. I wanted to finish the route for the hedgehogs and for your donations. A BIG BIG thank you to everyone who has supported. PLEASE keep donating the hedgehogs need you!!
