Oscar's 250k Steps for M.E. (Part 2)

Our mission is improve the lives of all people affected by ME. Working towards a future where everyone with ME receives the understanding, equity and care they deserve. We provide practical support and healthcare services, as well as funding breakthrough research and campaigning for change.

Story

Two years ago, Oscar decided to walk 250k steps to raise funds for a different ME charity. It took him 43 walks over 9 months to achieve that goal and he smashed his fundraising target.

He's recently started doing regular walks again, and last night he asked whether he could do another fundraising challenge. So we decided to start the challenge again, and this time raise funds for Action for M.E. - a charity that has been particularly supportive to me.

M.E. has hit our family particularly hard - my mum (Oscar's grandma) was diagnosed with it in the 90s, and I and my uncle were both diagnosed with it in the 2010s. There is a woeful lack of medical research into the condition, way too much stigma, and no real treatments. Patients are left suffering for years, often decades, and the work of charities like Action for M.E. is massively important.

The fact that Oscar wants to do a fundraising challenge again fills me with such pride and gratitude, and we appreciate every donation, no matter how small.
