For those that know me they will know that me and my family have been struggling as my mum descends into mixed dementia. It is truly tragic to see it happen and yet there is so much promising research into Alzheimers and Vascular dementia. The more money that is raised for research the fewer people that will be affected in the future.

But even if dementia was cured today there would still be thousands of people who need incredibly expensive care.

As such I have set myself up for a truly stupid ride. I will be arriving in St Austell around 6:49am on the 29th (after an overnight train ride to Cornwall). I will then attempt to cycle 418.5 miles within the bank holiday weekend. It will hurt .. a lot ... but sometimes you have to do these things and one thing I have learned is that you may not have the time to do the things you want to do. So do them while you still can.

I am not kidding on the distance! I have a stretch goal after completing the distance too. I have a friend in Ramsgate (22 miles further on) who has a shower I can probably permanently disable after this ride.
