Hi, i'm Oscar.

I began my Scouting journey when I joined 2nd Longmynd Cubs in Church Stretton, and I am now proud to be an Explorer Scout. Scouting has helped me grow in confidence, teamwork, and leadership, and it has given me so many opportunities that I am really grateful for.

When the opportunity to apply for the World Scout Jamboree came up, I felt very excited and knew I had to give it my best shot. My application was accepted and I was invited to a selection day, where I met other hopefuls from across Shropshire. We took part in a range of activities designed to encourage teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

When I found out that I had been selected to attend the World Scout Jamboree, I felt incredibly proud and excited. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent Scouting, meet people from all over the world, and learn about different cultures. I am now working hard to raise the funds needed to take part, and any support would mean so much to me.

The World Scout Jamboree is the pinnacle of World Scouting; the largest event organised by the largest Youth Movement in the world. Held every four years around the world, the next is in Gdansk, Poland, in 2027. Our Shropshire Scouts will be rubbing shoulders with Young People from over 200 countries, and joining together in a spirit of friendship and peace to play our part in making the world a better place."
