Ironman 70.3: Aix-en-Provence · 19 May 2024

We support the Atkinson Morley Wing at St George’s Hospital London who treat brain diseases and disorders. We aim to raise much needed funds to support the advancement of treatment and research and to purchase equipment for paediatric and adult neurosurgery not available through the NHS.

Story

On May 19th I’ll be taking part in the Aix-En-Provence Ironman 70.3.

Other than challenging myself, over the 1.9km swim, 90km bike & 21.1km run in the South of France heat I’m raising money & awareness for 3 incredible charities which are close to my heart given the 3 legs of a Half Ironman:

I’m supporting the Eve Appeal following my mum's diagnosis with womb cancer in 2022, The Royal Marsden for their work treating her and helping so many others close to me affected by the cruel disease & Project21 to follow on from the great work Richard Sullivan began.

About the charities:

The Eve Appeal - The UK's Gynaecological Cancer Research Charity raising awareness & funding research into five gynae-cancers: Womb, Ovarian, Cervical, Vulval and Vaginal.

The Royal Marsden - One of the world’s leading cancer hospitals which treats over 59,000 NHS and private patients each year.

Project 21 - Set up in March 2022 by The Sullivan family after Richard’s diagnosis of a brain tumour, to fundraise for the John King Brain Tumour Foundation which raises funds for St George's Hospital to improve outcomes in neurosurgery.

Thanks for all your support and generosity. You’ll be helping me over the final kilometres and hopefully to a glass of Rosé at the finish line!
