This Fri 4th July my daughter Teresa and I will be swimming the epic 36km Capri - Napoli ultra marathon alongside my sister Ana and her husband Mike for the children of Gaza. This is the story around the challenge and initiative

From Capri’s dawn to Naples’ shore,

Thirty-six kilometers we dare explore.

A father and daughter, side by side,

In waters deep, with hearts open wide.

Years ago, she learned to trust the sea,

A little girl swimming close to me.

Now grown strong, her courage untold,

Together again—but the challenge bold.

My sister, her husband, all taking part,

A family united by purpose and heart.

For Gaza’s children whose nights are long,

We swim so their voices stay brave and strong.

This isn’t just distance measured in waves,

But proof of the power that hope engraves.

When tragedy calls, we cannot stay still—

We rise, we remember, we honor their will.

So let our journey remind each friend:

When good hearts rally, the dark can end.

In every stroke, in every breath,

We carry the dream of life over death.
