Clare & Patrick's Camino Challenge

Camino Walk in aid of Anam Cara · 28 April 2024
Hello and thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
This April, Patrick and I will be taking on the challenge of completing the final section of the Portuguese Coastal Camino in aid of Anam Cara. We will fly out to on April 28th and starting in the town of Oia, we will walk approx. 120 kilometres over the week until we reach Santiago de Compostella.
We are participating in this walk in memory of my son Finn O'Dea who passed suddenly in January 2018. As a bereaved parent myself, I know first hand how vital the work that Anam Cara does is in supporting grieving parents. For me, it was about finding a community of other bereaved parents who I could relate to and who understood exactly how I was feeling. Family and friends try to understand, and indeed are going through their own grieving process, but the only person who can really understand your loss is someone who has experienced the death of a child themselves.
Anam Cara is an amazing organisation which was set up by bereaved parents to help themselves and all bereaved parents cope with their grief and loss and to journey on. The organisation supports bereaved parents throughout Ireland through hosting in person and online support groups
All services are free of charge and available to ALL parents after the death of a child, regardless of the age or circumstances of death.
Anam Cara supports over 2,400 bereaved parents annually and the money raised from this challenge will go towards supporting the work of Anam Cara.
Thank you again for your support.
