Story

Join me in supporting children's mental health by sponsoring me in the Manchester Marathon 2026 with #TeamPlace2Be.

As the UK's leading school-based mental health charity, Place2Be provides vital support to children, families, and school staff when they need it most. With 1 in 5 children and young people now experiencing a probable mental health problem, it's more important than ever to ensure that every child has easy access to mental health support. Raising money for this event will possibly change lives for some young kids that may need it, for example it will help provide funded one on one therapy lessons for kids, group therapy and art therapy just depending on what support the child needs.

But let me tell you more about my self, my story, why this means so much too me. When I was younger my dad took his own life after struggling with mental health, As a young lad growing up without a father, this had a lot of impacts on my mental health, left me too feeling lost, lonely and unexplainable grief from growing up having to learn how to manage my emotions and understand how I was going to accept losing such an important person and deal with such a loss. having the right people around me too provide support like my family and learning it is okay to speak up about my emotions through therapist and family, made me realise how mentally strong and resilient I can be, how strong I will be! So this is a vital mission for myself, as I want to make sure young kids who are struggling with mental health are able to get the help and support that they may need, so they can heal and understand emotions, the same way I now am.

Please donate today and help ensure no child has to face mental health problems alone.
