At the end of May, I’ll be cycling through the Outer Hebrides with some friends. Over six days, we’ll cover more than 300 miles from the southern tip to the northern end of this stunning chain of islands, following much of what’s known as The Hebridean Way.

Several friends and colleagues suggested I turn this into a sponsored ride — so that’s exactly what I’m doing!

I’ll be raising funds for a Kenyan foundation called Route 61. Since 2016, Route 61 has partnered with key government institutions to support children within the juvenile justice system. They’re currently working in eleven Remand Homes, Rescue Centres, and Rehabilitation Schools in and around Kisumu, Kenya.

They’ve built and trained a dedicated team of Kenyan mentors and social workers who support disadvantaged children — helping them reconnect with their families and return to safe, loving home environments where they can begin to heal and thrive.

In October 2025, a team from our local church will be travelling to Kenya to work alongside Route 61 in their mission to support these young people. All funds raised from this ride will go directly toward strengthening the life-changing partnerships Route 61 has already built.
