Story
We are embarking on a fundraising initiative for the Sandy Bear charity after one of our younger climbing team members sadly lost their father to a hit and run in late 2024. Since that tragic event, the Sandy Bear Charity has provided incredible support to the family during these challenging times.
To contribute, the youth climbing team has taken on the ambitious goal of climbing the equivalent height of Everest and back down! This means they will be scaling a total of 17,697.72 meters collectively at their local venue, Overhang Climbing Centre in Carmarthen.
Our fearless squad of 13 is all set, with our pint-sized team member being just 8 years old! They'll scale towering 12-meter walls over and over, until they conquer their goal!

They’ve got a thrilling 6-hour window to hit their target, with a well-earned lunch break to refuel! Their parents, siblings and climbing coaches will be there to give them lots of support but spectators and climbers are more than welcome to come show their support.
Please help our team reach their fundraising goal by donating whatever you can to raise money for an amazing charity.

Sandy Bear exist to support children, young people and families in the lead up to or following the death of somebody special to them. Our 1:1 and peer group support enables young people to explore and understand the process of death, dying and grief in a safe, age appropriate environment.
Sandy Bear's work supports immediate emotional health needs and helps build resilience, confidence and the ability for them to go on to be the best versions of themselves, not held back by past experiences.
