Our incredible London Marathon runners are helping us provide vital support to people bereaved by suicide, opening up the conversation surrounding suicide related grief. We're here to keep you company.

Story

Bereavement in any form is painful, but losing someone to suicide is a different kind of grief. In 2011, when I was 19, my mum died by suicide, and really nothing prepares you for that. I remember feeling really alone, like nobody could possibly understand because I didn’t really understand. It is something you never “get over,” but slowly learn to live alongside.

That is why I am (very proudly) running the London Marathon 2026 for Suicide&Co. They are a national charity supporting people bereaved by suicide, helping them find permission to grieve and the space to rebuild. They provide the listening ear that is so often missing when the world falls apart.

Every step I take on marathon day is for my mum, and for everyone who has had to carry this kind of loss; and anyone who knows me knows I am NOT a runner so please pray for me! (And if you can, sponsor my suffering!)

Suicide&Co’s work matters because it shows people that grief can be met with compassion, that healing is possible, and that hope can return even when it feels impossible.

And to my Mum, I hope you know this is a big one for me! I’ve never been much of a runner, so when I make it to the finish line, that medal is as much yours as it is mine ❤️
