Story
Those who have known me for a while, will know long distance activities are not my strength, with anything over 200m being deemed as too far.
On May 11th 2024, I'll be taking on the challenge of an Ironman 70.3 consisting of a 1.2 mile (1.9km) Swim, a particularly hilly 56 mile (90km) Cycle and a 13.1mile (21.1km) Run in Mallorca.
The reason I'm taking on this challenge is to raise money for Ruils - a charity close to my family who help support disabled children and adults and people with long term mental health conditions to live independently and live life to the full.
As a small charity, every donation makes a huge difference and goes directly to improving their services.
The donations from this event will go towards Ruils' Counselling Service, which provides a safe space for disabled clients, and their families, to talk about the challenges they are facing and find ways to cope.
It costs £257 to deliver a series of 12 Counselling sessions to a client, so I'm hoping to raise enough money in sponsorship to reach a few more people in need of support.
Any donation large or small will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Owen
