Story

Mesothelioma UK is the national charity for anyone affected by mesothelioma, a preventable cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. They exist to support people with mesothelioma to live better and live longer and to prevent mesothelioma happening to future generations. They do this by advocating for better treatment and care, enhancing quality of life, supporting research and amplifying the patient’s voice.

In March 2024, my Dad died from mesothelioma. His long term exposure to asbestos was due to his job working in UK power stations between 1973-1994. Unfortunately, despite the research into it, mesothelioma still remains an aggressive and incurable disease and once diagnosed, its victims usually are gone within 2 years and as with all cancers, it isn't an easy end.

Therefore, my wife & I are undertaking a 25km Thames Bridges Trek - Ultra Challenge to raise money for Mesothelioma UK in memory of my much loved and missed Dad Brian Lloyd. If you are able to support the charity, it would be very much appreciated. Many thanks.
