Story
I’ve seen firsthand the impact that love, care, and compassion can have on a child’s life. My nan was always babysitting her grandchildren, and helping my mum, who dedicated her career to caring for children, at one point looking after more than 15 at once while I was in a wheelchair and in traction. Today, she’s a foster carer to four children.
That spirit of care is what’s driving me to take on the Nottingham Robin Hood Half Marathon in support of Rainbows – the only children’s hospice in the East Midlands. Rainbows provides vital care to over 750 babies, children, and young people with serious or terminal illnesses, as well as supporting their families through the most difficult times.
They receive only 18% of their funding from the government, meaning they rely on people like us to help. Every pound you give can brighten short lives – from funding music therapy sessions, to providing nutritious meals, to offering bereavement support for families who’ve lost a child.
I’ll be putting in the miles and pushing my limits – but I can’t do this alone. Please consider sponsoring me so together, we can help Rainbows give children and families the care, comfort, and joy they deserve.
Let’s make every step count. 💛🌈
