Story
As a child growing up with dyslexia I struggled with school but found in Scouting an environment where I could learn through practical experiences. Lessons from role models, the challenges and confidence that I gained continue to help me. Given the help I’ve had from Scouting I want to make sure that future generations have access to this great charity.
I volunteer as a Cub leader for the 2nd St Neots. We are a young troop that operate from a secondhand porta cabin on a new build housing estate. The cabin leaks and the floor is starting to rot. But these new estates are exactly where I think Scouting can help the most. I want to help the troop with its ‘hut fund’ so that eventually they can invest in a legacy building that will be home to scouts in St Neots for generations to come.
I have decided to put my love of an outdoor challenge to the test and take on an epic challenge, completing an 55km Ultra Marathon around the Lake District this July.
