Founded in 1999, OBR has grown into a strong competitor in the Formula Student competition. Today, we take pride in being composed of almost 700 diverse students across a wide range of courses, representing more than 49 nationalities. This range of perspectives leads us to better decision-making and increased adaptability, with every single member of OBR adding something uniquely valuable every day.
Our team operates with an organisational structure inspired by Formula One teams. It is built around three core components: mechanical, electrical, and operations. This professional approach, combined with our strong reputation, attracts around 700 new students every year. We operate up to 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round, driven by passion and commitment. This dedication has helped OBR achieve more UK top team titles than any other university, as well as 8 top-three finishes. We thrive working under the pressure of maintaining this level of achievement and plan to do so for many more years to come. We continue to break barriers and fuel the engineers and leaders of the next generation, while consistently designing and building an elite open-wheel racing car.

We are seeking to raise funds to support transportation costs for our European competition dates, which represent a significant and growing expense for the team. As these costs quickly mount up, we are asking for your help in minimising the financial burden. Any additional funds raised will also directly contribute to the development and manufacture of vital car components, helping us remain competitive at the highest level.
