Story
To some of you 5km might not sound that far - but to Samuel (age 5 and a half (yes, the half matters!)) it sounds like a long way! And if he starts complaining on the way round - it might feel like a long way to us too! Trying to explain the concept of a sponsored walk to a 5.5 year old is proving challenging - we're not quite sure he gets it - but we want to try and teach him as early as we can about the importance of raising awareness and funds for great charities.
We know many of you who'll receive this link already support great causes but we hope you might be able to spare a few extra pennies to support this one too.
We hope Samuel will complete all 5km - but of course we can't guarantee it. We'll be there all the way encouraging (perhaps bribing him at times?!) to complete it - and no matter what, we can guarantee that your money will go to a great cause - Growing Hope. You can read a little bit more about them below:
Growing Hope offers free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. Growing Hope Maidstone serves families living in Maidstone and runs in partnership with St Luke’s Church. They bring hope to children through free therapy services. They grow hope for families where hope has been lost due to isolation or rejection. They share hope in Jesus because he brings hope even in the most difficult situations.
Growing Hope Maidstone currently offers music and speech and language therapy to help children and young people reach their potential. They also provide support for parents, carers and siblings through groups and courses.
Research suggests that families aren’t getting the support they need on the NHS as services are currently stretched. Growing Hope aims to bridge the gap by providing support for families who are desperate for help. Please give what you can. Thanks so much.
