Our house sits at 92m above sea level. Everest Base Camp sits at 5364m

Oxygen is 50% so its a tough challenge over 14 days in Sept. Deep into the Himalayas.

Not everyone can cope with the altitude but there is no way to test for it so High Altitude sickness is a worry and heli evac insurance is compulsory before travel to Lukla (the most dangerous airport in the world. ) I hate flying. 😒

Acclimatisation days along the route are necessary to avoid sickness.

I fly to Katmandu on the 22nd of Sept. And fly to Lukla on the 25th and then a 10 day trek to base camp and then to climb Kalapather at 5644m to watch the sunrise over Everest. Temperatures dropping to at least -11 at night with no heating in the teahouses.

It's no walk in the lakes.

The Great Aycliffe Cancer Charity is a fabulous Charity giving help to 100s of people and there families. Completely run by volunteers taking patients for treatment and support for families. Something that's very close to Bridgettes family and friends also.
