Story
Thank you for reading our story...
Dan and Ben Fry's rugby team mate and Datel Services colleague, Ellis Joseph has recently been diagnosed with leukaemia and in need of our support.
Ellis is desperate for a genetic match and a transplant, and the more people that sign up to the stem cell register, the greater chance of finding a match for Ellis.
In light of the above, and following four successful years (three times at Radyr Golf Club in Cardiff and once at Mendip Golf Club in Somerset), the four of us (Mike Davey, Dan Carter, Dan Fry and Ben Fry) have decided to give the Longest Day Golf Challenge another go on the 9th July - again, at Mendip Golf Club in aid of African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT).
For those unaware of the challenge, the idea is to play 4 rounds of golf in 1 day! Sounds easy doesn't it…well, the first 2 rounds are at least!
We will start our challenge around 5am, finish (hopefully) around 10pm, walk over 23 miles (46,000 steps), swing a lot of clubs, and lose a lot of balls!
ACLT's work focuses on three pillars; (i) increasing the number of potential lifesavers on the stem cell, blood and donor register, (ii) raiding awareness on the importance of becoming a donor, and (iii) providing advice and support service used (patients and their families).
ALL funds raised will be used to continue ACLT's great work and help us find a match for Ellis.
We’d be very grateful if you could all dig deep and help us get to our £2,000 target.
Thank you from team 'Pacemakers & Eurythmics' x
