Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am raising funds for the Jordan Houston Trust.
I am attempting to climb Island Peak in Nepal 6200m. I aim to cross Everest regions 3 high passes along the way over 20 days.
The trip starts in Kathmandu as you prepare to head to the Everest region. A short flight to Lukla marks
the beginning of the trek as you head to Phakding. From here, you enter the Sagarmatha National Park en
route to Namche Bazaar. Then, the trek heads north as you trek past Thame and Lumde to cross the Renjo
La Pass (5360m). The descent from the pass takes you to Gokyo village, which sits just north of the
Gokyo Lake. After exploring the village, you trek to Dzongla and ascend to the top of Cho La Pass
(5420m).
The descent from this pass takes you in the company of Khumbu Glacier to reach Lobuche. Further, the
trek heads to the Everest Base Camp via Gorakshep. The base camp offers a surreal view of the Khumbu
Icefall and Glacier along with numerous mountains like Nuptse and Pumo Ri. Then, the trek heads to the
next popular location in the region, Kalapatthar vantage point. From the viewpoint, you can relish the
vista of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Cholatse, and many other Himalayas. Finally, you head to the last
pass of the trek to Kongma La Pass (5535m). Then, the trail takes you south to Chhukung, followed by a
trek to Namche passing Tengboche on the way. Lastly, you follow the Dudh Koshi River and take a flight
from Lukla to Kathmandu.
