Story

The Paediatric Diabetes Team are raising finds to provide our children and young people with the opportunity to meet others with the same conditions.

This will be done through a series of peer support sessions which are delivered in a fun and safe environment whilst promoting independence whilst living with Diabetes.

These sessions are also a great opportunity for the parents of the children and young people to meet, offering support and understanding with other parents they wouldn't usually get the chance to connect with.

The sessions planned for 2026 are:

February - Bowling with Together Type 1 (Years 7-11)

April - Little Foxes Role Play Centre (Year 2 and under)

July - Clip and Climb (Year 6)

September - Independent Living Day (Years 12-13)

October - Laser Quest (Years 9-11)

November - Red Kangaroo (Years 3-5)

As well as delivering the delivering the above sessions during 2026 we would love to organise a residential trip for July 2027 for years 11-13. This residential trip would allow us to to work on topics and areas to prepare each child for transition into young adulthood.
