Daffodils is a disabled and additional needs children and young peoples charity based in Flintshire, Wales. We provide leisure and recreational activities for disabled children and young people and the whole family with a view to integrating them into society and improving their conditions of life.

Story

Would you like to help Daffodils grow?Daffodils is a Registered Charity (No. 1080579) for physically and mentally disabled children and young adults up to the age of 25 – as well as their immediate families - living in the  Flintshire area.  They provide leisure and recreational activities to improve overall well-being, social integration, reduce isolation and promote healthy relationships within the family and their wider community.Activities include a weekly youth club in Parkfields Community Centre, Exclusive hire of Whizzkids softplay centre in Saltney and monthly sessions in Mold, Holywell and Flint Leisure Centres to enjoy activities such as swimming and Ten Pin Bowling.  They run regular workshops for craft, painting, console gamesplay.   And it doesn’t stop there!  Daffodils also have occasional excursions to places such as Alyn Waters, Chester Zoo, and even museums, theme parks and the theatre.Whilst most of these activities require a small charge off users towards costs, Daffodils are heavily dependent upon charitable donations to help meet the costs of this amazing service. How you can you help this worthy cause.

Two members of Sant Beuno Masonic Lodge, Peter Hindmarch and David Fildes, are going to undertake the “Velocity 2” Zip wire ride at Zip World in Snowdonia on May 24th 2023.  Reaching speeds of 100mph, this is not something for the feint hearted – let alone two charitable gents aged 63 and 74!To help Peter and Dave conquer their fears and to build their confidence, we are asking people to support them in their quest by sponsoring them for whatever amount they feel reasonable to give.
