Story
As some of you may know my amazing sister was diagnosed with MND in August 2024! Chelsea is a 34 year old mum of 4, Chelsea’s symptoms actually started in October 2021 and has gone through so many invasive tests to get the diagnosis, she really is the bravest person I know and at times an absolute medical mystery.
The struggles Chelsea has faced in the last few months have been hard but she always puts on a brave face and battles through it. she struggles with day to day activities this disease has taken away the life she wanted to have with her children but she is still smashing it every single day! I have been at a loss for words regarding this situation as no words can explain such a horrendous disease MND affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time. There is a 1 in 300 risk of getting MND across a lifetime.
I have attached a video from Chelsea herself if you could take a few minutes of your time to watch this describes what Chelsea’s life is like since getting her diagnosis. - https://m.facebook.com/share/v/16F5ZBuqZX/?mibextid=wwXIfr&wtsid=rdr_0NaJtCDffy3HUZFCB
The Mark Sommerville Foundation has been there for Chelsea and our family through this traumatic time so I now think it is time for me to give back to the charity in any way I can so I will be doing a SKY DIVE on the 28th July to raise money for this amazing charity so they can continue to help Chelsea and other people that are going through the same thing. Marks story is “The hardest part? It feels like there’s no help or support out there for people like me. Our government isn’t doing enough—in fact, they’re doing nothing to support those of us living with MND. The lack of action is frustrating and heart-breaking. People have my life in their hands, and they’re letting me down. Our goal is to help support those with an MND diagnosis and their family and friends, from giving hope, to providing practical aid box that allows you to take on daily tasks with a bit more ease, the Mark Sommerville Foundation are on hand to provide a friendly ear, and support assistance to everyone that has an MND diagnosis.”
So lets raise as much money as possible and THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU for any donations!
