The People's Recovery Project exists to support people experiencing homelessness and addiction to build sustained recovery. We do this by a unique 3-step approach, supporting people through the preparation, treatment and aftercare phases of the recovery journey.

Story

Throughout my life I have seen first hand the disease that is addiction. Several of my family members have unfortunately suffered addiction, including my dad. Although functioning I saw what addiction did to my dad and how it created a barrier in our relationship. I’m so grateful that with the help of free services, charities and a supportive community he is now here today, clean, and on his own journey supporting other people. I hate to think that the alternative road would leave me with a very different life today. This charity is very close to my heart, addiction is a disease and not something to look down on people for. TPRP exist to make recovery achievable to all, including those that suffer homelessness alongside this.

I will be running Hackney half marathon, the first challenging run I have ever done. I would love for people to donate to this amazing charity that I am honoured to be representing on the day. If a donation is too much for you right now, I ask that you are able to share this around and help support the cause.

Thank you so much!
