I will be taking part in the Leeds half marathon on May the 10th for the amazing charity Candlelighters and for a truly inspiring and beautiful young girl called Ella. Ella and her family have been through so much over the last year since Ella’s diagnosis, but their bond and positivity has touched my heart so deeply as well as many others.

Ella is 10 and has been receiving treatment for cancer. She shows resilience and bravery everyday which has inspired me to take part in this for her, her family and the amazing charity Candlelighters. Candlelighters have supported Ella and her family, alongside many others in unimaginable ways. Candlelighters are not just a charity. They are a lifeline, the bright sparks of hope in the darkest days.

Whether it’s emotional, practical, or financial support, they provide the right help at the right time. From easing the burden of treatment to creating special moments together, they stand beside families every step of the way. A charity that needs to be heard about from far and wide.

Please take the opportunity to look at their website to see just a snippet of what they do. I have seen for myself the work they put in just to make life for the children and families a little easier. And I can assure you, it is magical.

I’m raising money because no child should face cancer alone, and no family should have to navigate this heartbreak without support. Candlelighters stand beside them through every appointment, every sleepless night, every moment of courage.
