Story
Please sponsor Helen Ottaway's piano students in Frome, Somerset, UK. The dedicated young people are generously doing a whole MONTH of piano practice to support PalMusic UK. The month culminates in a concert at Christchurch, Frome, on Thursday 18 July at 5pm.
This is the third year that Helen has organised a sponsored piano practice, raising vital charitable funds. We're delighted that this year, Helen has chosen PalMusic as the charity. We met Helen when she composed 'Levantina' for Jordanian pianist, Iyad Sughayer, which PalMusic premiered at St George's Bristol, in February 2022.
PalMusic, is a registered charity in England and Wales, which provides access for Palestinian children and young people to learn music. Our principal focus is to fund teaching and ensembles at the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music (ESNCM), Palestine’s national conservatory centred in Ramallah. We give the opportunity for disadvantaged young musicians to learn music - young people who would not be able to without our financial support.
For young innocent Palestinians who are witnessing and experiencing distress and trauma daily, the acknowledged benefits of music are immense. Learning music gives Palestinian children and young people a beacon of hope, a sense of belonging and a much-need creative outlet through which to express their emotions.
WE CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORT!
