October 2023 changed everything for our family — that's when Dave, husband and dad and papa, had a stroke.

People see he looks well and assume he's back to normal. We're living proof that's not how it works.

This year, we are abseiling 165ft on 4th October 2026 for two charities close to our hearts: **Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland** and **Different Strokes**, who support younger stroke survivors — because stroke doesn't just happen to "old people," as we've learned the hard way.
