Walking the Thames Pathway

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

We're walking the 185-mile Thames Pathway to honour the memory of our beloved mothers, Judith and Sheila, who both passed away from Alzheimer's disease. This devastating condition not only robbed them of their memories and health but also profoundly impacted our families.

We recognise that many other families have experienced the anguish this condition creates. Having witnessed the heartbreak and challenges firsthand, we wanted to make a difference in our own small way.

We will be traversing the pathway in segments throughout the year. There is an accompanying blog for more information, which will eventually crystallise into a book to help raise further funds. For those interested in our meanderings, the blog is HERE.
