Race Across Lancashire 2026

Pamela Harvey is raising money for Lancashire Women

Team: 'Traa Dy Liooar' Race Across Lancashire

Race Across Lancashire 2026 · 5 September 2026

In the spirit of Race Across the World, Lancashire Women is calling upon adventurers from all walks of life to join forces for Race Across Lancashire! Race Across Lancashire 2026 📅 5th–6th September

Story

So we, Debbie Clague and Pam Harvey, have made a last minute decision (read: only found out and thought it looked like a fabulous way to raise money for a great cause) to enter 'Race Across Lancashire', with an aptly named team 'Traa Dy Liooar'.

Now for the Manxie's in the audience, you may think that this isn't a great name for a team in an actual race, and you may well be right, but we think it's a very apt name for our team, especially given that initially one of the team members thought it was Race Across Lancaster. We'll leave you to work out which one it was, although if you know us then I'm sure you have already worked it out!

For those that haven't heard about it, Race Across Lancashire is a two-day adventure challenge where teams navigate the county using only public transport, paper maps, and problem-solving skills, covering over 200 miles and reaching eight checkpoints while completing various tasks along the way. We will also have a small limited budget and a basic phone to be used only in emergencies (no smart phones this weekend). This is all with the purpose of raising as much funds as possible for Lancashire Women.

Lancashire Women is a charity organisation run for women, with women, and by women, supporting over 6,000 women annually, with services including mental health support, employment guidance, financial advice, and assistance within the criminal justice system.

We have selfishly entered this Race as it sounds like wonderful fun, however we are delighted to be raising funds for such a wonderful cause.

So please support us and we promise to tell you of our great adventure when/if we return. Who knows we may run out of money or we may quite simply get lost, but we hope to promote Lancashire Women at every step, bus ride, train journey and map reading along the way! Let's hope the power of Manx kindness and the gift of the gab can get us across Lancashire with 'time enough' to spare!

Why support Lancashire Women?

Lancashire Women support over 6000 individuals each year across Lancashire, by offering a safe space for women to seek support and access a wide range of FREE services, including Mental Health & Wellbeing, Employment Support, Money, Debt & Energy Advice, and Justice & Safety.

The struggles around rising bills and the general increase in cost of living has left us desperately in need of funding to support women and their families this winter. This is where you wonderful people come in; your support can mean real lives changed for women in Lancashire.
