Story
I'm taking part in the Pink Ribbon Walk to help Breast Cancer Now fund their life-saving science and life-changing support for anyone affected by breast cancer.
In 2021 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I then underwent chemotherapy, mastectomy radiotherapy then Herceptin injections, the treatment took 15 months from start to finish, a hard old time but I am so thankful for all the research that took place before my diagnosis, it definitely saved my life.
3 months after my treatment finished, my wee sister was diagnosed with breast cancer, another shock but we all supported her throughout her treatment. So we are both going to walk this walk together and try to raise some funds so Breast Cancer Now can continue their amazing work.
When Breast Cancer Now's Pink Ribbon Walks first took place in 2005, 8 in 10 women in the UK survived breast cancer for 5 or more years. Now, it’s 9 in 10. That’s the power of science and support in action. But breast cancer is still the most common cancer in women in the UK. So we’ve still got a long way to go.
Breast Cancer Now are working towards a future where everyone with breast cancer lives and lives well. But to make that change happen, we need to act. Now.
By sponsoring my Pink Ribbon Walk you can help change the lives of men and women and the future of breast cancer. Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
