Story
Pam and Ellis work together at Salisbury Orthodontics and we share a love of running, previously individually running the Brighton and Amsterdam Marathon. When we were presented with the opportunity to run the London Marathon for The Stars Appeal at Salisbury District Hospital, we both knew this was something we had to do, not just for the personal challenge, but because this charity has directly impacted us both in such a positive way.
The Stars Appeal funds state of the art medical equipment, creates calming welcoming spaces, supports vital services eg. cancer care, neonatal care, mental health, to both patients and staff and helps provide emergency accommodation for families who need to stay close to their loved ones.
We’re so proud to be running 26.2 miles for such a special cause. Over £1 million is raised each year, going above and beyond what the NHS can provide alone. This makes a massive difference to local people every day. Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps The Stars Appeal continue to provide enhanced care, better facilities, and crucial support for patients and their carers.
Pam’s daughter benefited directly from the amazing Stars Appeal when she was two and broke her femur and spent a lengthy time in hospital. The Stars Appeal funds made their stay a lot more comfortable and bearable during this tricky time. Pam has always wanted to give something back to say thank you for this and so now is the time, this is why she is running the marathon to raise essential funds for our wonderful hospital.
Thank you in advance for any support you are able to provide.
Pam xxx
