Story
Team Panache take on the Sheffield 10K in support of Amy’s House.
The Charity
Every weekend Amy’s House gives very special children with additional needs the chance to play, laugh and learn through education and exercise in a fun and safe environment. These may seem like basic requirements for children, but many miss out on these experiences during the week due to the specialist individual care that many of them require.
As well as caring for children, the facility also provides welcome respite for parents and carers who often don’t get a well-earned break and gives them the chance to concentrate on siblings who may not receive as much focus during the week.
When Amy’s House was trialed as a pilot scheme in 2005, the response they had was incredible and proof that such a facility was desperately needed in Sheffield. Since then, they have continued to go from strength to strength, employing additional qualified staff and working with the Special Needs Inclusion Playcare Service (SNIPS) as part of their pledge to help the ever-growing number of deserving families.
Despite the increasing number of families in need of weekend respite, Amy’s House is the only facility of its kind in Sheffield to offer this type of service and relies primarily on the generosity of fundraisers and businesses to keep going.
The Challenge
Panache is very proud to have had a long-standing relationship with Amy’s House, a charity that has been doing incredible work in our local community for many years. Their commitment to providing support and care for children with special needs and their families is truly inspiring, and we are honoured to play a small part in supporting their mission.
Caring for a child with a disability is a 24/7 responsibility, and the opportunity to step away from daily challenges, even for a short time, can make a world of difference. As a Sheffield-based company, we’re really committed to continuing our support for this local charity, so the keen (and not as keen) runners amongst us, have decided to participate in the Sheffield 10K on Sunday 29th September to raise funds for Amy’s House. We will be doing a series of team training sessions, and your donations will help to give us that little bit of all important extra motivation! Any donation, no matter how big or small, is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your ongoing support in making a positive impact.
